5 Easy Steps to Losing Weight

Set A Goal
Find something within you emotionally that drives you to be successful in your personal weight loss. When you find something emotional within yourself it will help drive you to be successful. Every woman has the emotions that drive her to her goal for instance maybe you remember what you looked like in your favorite jeans 5 years ago. Use that thought to help your motivation. Believe in yourself! There is beauty in everyone, find what is beautiful in you.

Eat Less
Eat half of what you would eat in a day. Eat 5 smaller meals a day that have lean protein, fruits and veggies and complex carbohydrates. This will help keep your metabolism even all day long so you won't have drops and spikes in your blood sugar. By putting your meal on a smaller plate it's amazing how many calories you can save without even knowing.

Become More Active
Whether its a walk after dinner with friends or family or dusting off your exercise equipment that has been a great cloths rack. You can go to the gym or play more with your children which, by the way is the most fun and beneficial because you lead by example. This will help you and your children spend more time together too creating healthy habits in their precious lives. Find any excuse to become more active, take the stairs instead of the elevator. Get creative and have fun.

Tell people you trust your goal
Having a support system is essential to your success. Including someone else in the goal you've set will help you. Any goal can get tough to accomplish and having a buddy to talk to helps relieve stress and remember what we want to do. It helps us refocus on our original goal and why we set it. Positive reinforcement is very powerful and can boost you back up to push forward and be amazing. I have a support system. I am a personal trainer and I have a trainer of my own who kicks my trash and helps me remember what my goals are. It kina helps that he's easy on the eyes.

Keep A Daily Log
First thing in the morning weigh yourself and write it down. The easiest way I've found is to make note of it in the corner of your calendar. Doing this you will see what your food choices are doing to your body either positively or negatively. Its as simple as that. The body is so blunt, your mind forgets what you eat but the body never forgets thus showing on the scale. It is so easy to lose weight. Aside from clinical issues, a normal healthy person can lose weight. You get out of it what you put into it.

HEADED BACK TO THE STAGE!

My last competition was in 2007 where I won FIRST PLACE in National Physique Committee (NPC).  Then in 2009, I had a total hip replacement surgery due to a birth defect. While I have participated as a judge in numerous body competitions over the last four years, I have really missed actually competing. So here I am at 38 years old, I have decided to train and compete in March of 2012 in the Women's Physique Division. So wish me luck! Better yet, join me on my journey as I set and accomplish my goals, share in my concerns and triumphs, and above all, let's inspire each other!
